The principal object of activity is represented by underground construction works and art works. The average turnover during the past years is above 8.5 mil. Euro. Average no. of employees is 1000. The company gathered many specialists with international experience, logistics and technical facilities to execute most difficult projects. The company was basically founded during middle sixties as a site of Intreprinderea de Construc?ii Por?ile de Fier, once have started the works for raising the existing railway and national road in the area of Gura Văii and Orsova. In the seventies, taking the specialists and the teams of miners that executed the works, the site was distinctively founded and organized as Şantierul 74 Tunele Ciceu. Little by little extended and took over the execution and repairs of tunnels, all over the country railway network. In 1975 headquarters are relocated in Brasov, under the name of Şantierul 18 Tunele Brasov of the Centrala de Constructii Cai Ferate. The company was successively restructured several times receivind the name of Antrepriza de Tunele Căi Ferate Brasov (ATCF Braoov), under a decree signed in 1984. Another gouvernement decision, taken in 1991 transforms ATCF Brasov in Societatea de Constructii "Tunele" SA Brasov, as a state owned company. In 1995 takes end the privatization process the company becoming a private own, company on shares. After the nineties the company adapted to the more and more competitive business environment, profoundly taken its field of activity and extended the range while maintaining the position into the top of big Romanian construction companies.
